Peterson Becker Industries completed its scope for the EVRAZ Palmer Steel Rail Mill in December of 2023. Located in Pueblo, Colorado, the Palmer Steel Rail Mill is a large-scale project with a massive footprint of over 545,000 square feet! This was a very challenging project for PBI, not only due to the massive scope but the location, which posed its own set of challenges related to winter weather, including snow, ice, and sleet. However, PBI didn’t let those factors affect operations and safety protocols. PBI maintained its stringent timeline and adhered to our outstanding safety record, with zero recordables. PBI is proud to be a part in the construction of the Palmer Steel Rail Mill which will be used to manufacture rail line that is ¼ mile in length, much longer than traditional rail line. As a bonus, the mill will generate 1,000 new jobs for the community – positively impacting the economic growth of the area!
